Shark Island Challenge live streams to Facebook

The 20th Anniversary of the Shark Island competition hosted by World Body boarding association was held recently in Sydney’s coastal town Cronulla. The event saw body boarders come from all over Australia to compete against twenty-five of the nations best in the one-day event to battle it out for the prestigious 20th anniversary trophy and prize money on offer.

The event was broadcasted live through Facebook Live streaming platform for the duration of the competition and finally won by South Coast professional body boarder Jason Finlay winning narrowly ahead of local Shaun Pyne.

For this Facebook Live Streaming event, golive set up two 4k Red Epic cameras, one being wide and the other tight on land to capture the action from the land. Another red epic camera was capturing an angle from a boat in the water and would send slow-motion footage back to the switcher on the land to be ingested in the production.

Overall this Live stream Facebook event was viewed by over 60,000 people and continues to be watched as an on-demand player. Additionally, the footage that was captured throughout the day is being used for highlights in smaller clips and is gaining large views.
